Gloria Victis: Is It PvP or PvE? Can You Solo?

It's PvP-first — what solo play and avoiding ganks really look like.

Honest answer: Gloria Victis is a PvP game first. You can gather, craft and quest in safer areas, but you can't fully avoid conflict, and the solo PvE content is thin. If you want a pure PvE adventure or a carebear mode, this isn't it — and pretending otherwise just leads to refunds.

Can I play solo?

Partly. Solo gathering and crafting in safer zones is viable, and you'll do fine questing early. But the depth — territory, sieges, meaningful PvP — is built for groups, and the population means soloing can feel empty. Joining a guild transforms the experience.

Can I avoid getting ganked?

Mostly, by staying out of the Loot Zone and near safe areas — but once you venture into contested territory you're fair game. Anti-griefing systems reward cooperating with your nation and punish traitors, which curbs the worst of it, but PvP is the point of the contested map.

Codex take: Come for the PvP and territory war, treat PvE/crafting as the support economy, and join a guild. If you want PvE-only, play something else — you'll be happier and so will the game's reviews.
